1. New register design. The old accumulator wasn’t made too well and had too much delay, I rushed it a bit when I made it. I pulled out the edge triggering, I’ll make the clock signal have short pulses.

  3. Just finished the adder. It’s fast. :D It’s still missing the carry-out bit, but that needs to wait until I’ve put the adder into the ALU.

  5. I’m putting together a new adder for my CPU. The old one was quite slow, but this one should be able to calculate in 10 ticks! 1 second for an 8-bit addition in Minecraft seems decent.

  9. I thought a map of the CPU, screen and GPU would look cool.  I was wrong. :S

  13. I decided to try spending a night exploring the CPU. On hard mode. Without items, weapons or armor. With all the torches removed. See how I went. :)

  17. Video of the updated CPU, now with more RAM!  This is a looping program, adding 1+2+3…  I had to stop recording after a couple of loops as my real life computer was struggling with all the activity. I think it’s dying. :S

  19. CPU Save!

This is the save for the CPU.  Everything works, but occasionally the code loader crashes randomly (if this happens, which it seems to do so without reason every now and again, just reload the save and try again).  Instructions to follow, or you can just watch the videos to see what I do, the op codes are in an earlier post.  Btw, the CPU is SLOW, so don’t expect speedy calculations. :)  Let me know if there is something not working, or if you’re having trouble making it work.
    Here’s the link

If you’re interested in programming it, here’s a thread about it:
